(XX, XY)

2016, March

(XX, XY) is all about couples. Since 2002, Philippe Richard has been making gouache paintings that are split in the middle by a perforated line. The artist probes the relationships between the spaces created. The connections are infinite. Between perfect concord and total indifference, endless possibilities take shape. At once paintings and graphic artworks, these gouaches are also flashes of the artist’s thoughts and musings, where motifs ricochet depending on his moods.
